A new name tag 2

I enjoy attending meetings of the quilt group (such a fun group!) to which I belong here, and one of our very few rules is that we must wear a name tag. That’s actually a great rule, considering how bad I am at remembering people’s names! 😉 The name tag I’ve been using had become old and worn, so I decided to make a new one. This time, instead of simply writing my name on the fabric, I used my Bernina’s embroidery module to make something a bit nicer and more legible. This one should last me for another few years!

About Sandy

I’m a retired high school French teacher from Arizona, now living in the Las Vegas area. I loved teaching French, but I love retirement even more! I’m a quilter, and most of what you see here will be about quilting, though I’ve also taken up knitting, and I love to bake. Please leave me a comment if you want to contact me — I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. :)

That’s adorable, Sandy! I’m pushing myself to try out the three quilt guilds nearest to me and pick one to join this summer. Rooms full of strangers are scary! 🙂 I went to a meeting of the Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild and saw they were all wearing fabric name tags, but wasn’t sure what was up with that. I guess I’m going to need to make one for myself!

Thanks, Rebecca Grace! I was terrified the first time I attended a group meeting, so the guild meeting (we have a *huge* guild) was even more of a nail-biter. Still, they were all very welcoming, and I’ve stuck around for 18 years now — ever since we moved here. Making a name tag has a lot to be said for it, since it provides almost-immediate gratification in terms of finished projects. 😉
