After a rather long hiatus, I’m back to working on my Exploding Star quilt. 🙂 I’d sandwiched and pinned it some time ago, but then I ran into complications (including a great vacation trip, followed by a nasty cold), but now I’m back at it.
My sewing room is also my computer room, so things get rather awkward when I need to put up the back leaf of my sewing table to support the weight of the quilt. I lose almost three feet of depth, meaning other complications arise. If you look at the photo, you may be able to see that there’s barely enough room for my desk/quilting chair at this point. In fact, when I’m not actively quilting, I have to remove the knee lift for my Bernina, as well as my thread catcher, or they will cause problems as I come and go: the thread catcher drops to the floor, spilling threads as it goes, and the knee lift gets bumped and lowers the presser foot, whether I want it to or not. LOL!
However, the quilting is coming along rather steadily at this point! I’m putting some curved feather sprays into the outline of the heart in the central portion of the quilt, and I still need to add more feathered sprays into the large corner areas. I love feathers!

Sandy the quilt looks lovely! So glad you are feeling better. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt as I love feathers as well.
