I’ve been seeing lots of trinket trays (usually in leather or imitation leather) lately, and I really wanted to make one to help keep clutter organized in my sewing area. The problem is that I didn’t like the idea of the wrong side of the embroidery used to embellish them showing! My solution was to make one from fabric, which has the added benefit of being washable. 🙂 I happened to have a bit of embroidery that I really liked but had no immediate use for, so that became the base of my trinket tray. The embroidery is an OESD design that reminds me of our little dog. I used some scraps of Soft and Stable to stiffen the tray and used stitching lines to make the edges fold up. I’d have put snaps in the corners, but I didn’t have any that were long enough, so I simply stitched the corners in place. It was a quick and easy project that I think will be very useful!

Smart & useful, Sandy, thanks for sharing! x Dianne
Thanks, Dianne! It was a quick project and should be useful. 🙂
Love being able to use “orphan” blocks up so that was a great idea. The dog embroidery is so cute almost a shame to cover it up with stuff.
Thanks, Candice! That little dog design just makes me smile — and it reminds me of our dog, too! 🙂
