New quilting tool

One of the most difficult things about quilting on a domestic machine is managing the bulk and weight of the quilt. For some time now, I’ve been looking at a couple of tools that claim to help hold the weight to make quilting easier and less tiring. One of those tools requires floor space, which I don’t have; I have a smallish room that becomes really cramped when I extend the back leaf of my cabinet and which doesn’t allow for anything extra on the floor. The other, however, clamps to the cabinet itself, which is a much better option for me.

quilting in progress with suspension systemI finally bit the bullet and ordered this second option (which has been around for longer than the other one, actually) from Patsy Thompson Designs. I LOVE it! I’ll still probably never try to quilt anything larger than a large lap-sized quilt, as I have back issues, but this makes life so much nicer!

The ordering process was simplicity itself. In fact, Patsy offered me the option for less-expensive shipping if I wasn’t in a rush. I ordered the purple version to go along with the purple skin on my Bernina 790+, but it’s also available in blue. Oh, and disregard the black item in the background that looks like it might be part of the setup; it’s a lamp! LOL!
