Hmmm … what’s this? Could it be …? Yes!!!! I braved the heat and finished up the last of the Winding Ways blocks for my quilt. 😀 This is what a stack of 104 blocks looks like. 😉
Here’s a better photo, though, showing all eight fabrics I used. Each fabric is used both in the background pieces and in the “blade” pieces in equal amounts. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to begin putting the blocks together for a few weeks, as things are about to get pretty busy here. But one of the nice things about quilting is that so frequently there are no deadlines, and our projects wait very patiently for us to get back to them. 🙂

Absolutely gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to make this quilt & have the templates purchased. I’m afraid of the curves – how did you do it? They look fantastic. Can’t wait to see them all sewn together!
Joan, I had already purchased templates when I ran into a book that was so helpful that it made a huge difference in how successful I was in doing the curves. The book is by Nancy Elliott Macdonald and explains her Winding Ways technique in very easy terms. I ended up adapting the templates I’d purchased so as to use her cutting plan, and that worked very well. Good luck! It’s a pattern I’ve wanted to make for a very long time. 🙂

No quilting for me today – catching up on the laundry after our trip and baking whole wheat bread using the stone ground flour we bought at the mill in Indiana.
