Busy, busy

I’ve had a busy schedule for the past few days. One of our grandsons graduated from high school on May 25, another graduated from high school on May 30, their joint graduation party was on June 1, and I attended a two-day OESD class on May 31-June 1. I had signed up for the class before knowing what the graduation dates would be, or I might not have done it. LOL! However, I’m very glad I did, because the class was lots of fun. On the first day, we used Minkee to appliqué a little monster onto a child’s tee-shirt, which I’ll be giving to a friend’s little boy. We also made a monogrammed trivet/hot pad that day. The second day was spent embroidering a kitchen towel, which can be buttoned onto a towel rod or the oven door; and we also made a zippered pouch. Everything except the binding on the hot pad was done in the hoop, and all supplies were provided for us.

Yesterday I decided to get busy with that tote bag I’d begun and shown in my last blog post. I guess I was on a roll, because that’s finished now, too! I added a zippered closure and an inner pocket, so it should be useful. The bag is lined, and I added Soft & Stable to give it extra “body”. I’m showing both sides, since they’re not the same. The lower part of the tote is made from cork, which is fun to work with.
