Never say never …

I’ve been known to tell people that I never win anything. That’s not quite true, of course, as I’ve won a few things over the years, including a nice gift certificate to my local quilt shop recently. However, about a week ago I began to get shipping notices from Williams-Sonoma — notices for four different packages. Considering that I hadn’t ordered anything, I was confused and called for clarification. After some sleuthing around, the very nice service person informed me that I’d won a drawing from T-Mobile, which is our cell provider. Wow!

The first package arrived on Monday, containing a lovely set of four white wine glasses. Yay! I drink wine, so this was definitely a plus. The next three packages were to arrive the following day, and I was expecting similar gifts. Wrong.

In unpacking them, I almost went into shock! We were given service for eight — dinner plates, salad plates, coffee mugs, soup bowls, white wine glasses, red wine glasses, old fashioned glasses, champagne flutes. Also included were a dozen napkins and two place settings of gold flatware to coordinate with the narrow gold rim on the dishes. All of this was actually sent from West Elm (but provided by T-Mobile, as I said), which partners with Williams-Sonoma.

So now I’ll never again say that I never win anything! 🙂
