Learning a new technique

If you’ve seen many of the quilts I’ve posted here, you may have noticed that I love to use corded piping next to the binding. Now, though, I may be “kicking it up a notch.” I learned of a class online offered by Bethanne Nemesh, whose work I’ve long admired, so I gave in to temptation and began the class. The first step was to quilt a large piece of fabric and then cut it up into 4″ squares for the various samples to be made; that larger piece was the subject of my last post. Today I finished the first sample, and I’m really happy with the technique. It would have shown more if I’d used white binding, but I had the purple already prepared, so that’s the way it is. I can see using this in some of my small quilts in the future — I love it!
