Koala Studio Cabinet

I’ve had a terrific sewing machine cabinet for many years, and it would have lasted me many more. However, I have a storage problem in my little sewing room, so in March I began considering a change in cabinets. My timing was pretty good, too, since there was a Bernina promotion to make the purchase much easier. I ordered my new Koala Studio cabinet, which arrived today! It’s a bit larger than my previous one and barely fits into my sewing room, but the storage in it is fantastic.

The biggest benefit to me is that one of the drawers is specially made to store the Bernina embroidery module; no more storing it in a travel bag on the floor and having to trip over it whenever I needed to use the module! In addition, there are several little cubbyholes in the knee area, meaning that things I’ve usually stored on top of the cabinet can be put out of the way and still remain easily accessible.

Of course, all of this meant that I wanted to find a buyer for my previous cabinet, and I was extremely lucky to have been able to do that. Our son-in-law and two of our grandsons came over a couple of days ago and helped my husband load that cabinet into the truck (no mean feat!) and take it to its new home, where I’m hoping it will be enjoyed as much as it was while here.

As a thank you to the fellows for helping me, I’ve been baking another batch of cookies this afternoon from Dorie Greenspan’s cookie book — Espresso Chocolate Sablés this time.
