Our local guild began doing something new at last year’s show. Each person who has a quilt that earned a ribbon is also given a little badge to wear. It’s really nice to look at your friends and immediately know what they’ve won. These are samples of those badges, though there are also special ones for Best of Show and some other special awards.
I think it’s a nice touch, don’t you?

That is a wonderful idea. My guild still depends on viewers to vote for all the categories, and announce the winners at the end of the show. I think it is about time we have a judged show too. They do have the hand quilted category judged, but the rest depends on voting. Some years quilts have won because they were hung in an area with better lighting!
