Busy, busy

I’ve been sort of quiet for the past several days, and I have a really good excuse, honest! 😉 Two of our grandsons (aged 9 and almost 6) have been staying with us while our daughter (their mom) has to be out of town on business. She comes home on the weekends, which gives us a much-needed break. We’ve finished a week and are into our second one now.

Yesterday the younger boy had a birthday party to attend, so the older one and I made cookies (remember these?). Usually there isn’t much time for that sort of thing, between supervising homework, getting boys to soccer practice, getting them to and from school and all of the other little things that go into raising children. So being able to do some baking was a nice change. 🙂 My grandson enjoyed adding things to the mixer bowl and shaping the cookies, but it was torture for him to smell them baking. 😉
Last weekend I decided that Bisou was getting pretty shaggy, so it was time for her to get cleaned up. I usually split the clipping and bathing into two separate days, since she gets pretty traumatized by the process and this eases it a bit. I’m not very good at clipping her, but I am getting a bit better, I think. So here’s a photo of her while she’s still looking pretty spiffy.

Mother’s Day was a couple of days ago, of course, and mine was a lovely one. Actually, I was able to celebrate twice, as our elder daughter took us out to dinner on Saturday evening, and our younger one took us out to brunch on Sunday! I felt quite pampered and enjoyed every minute, but there aren’t any photos of these events. 🙂

Anyway, with all of this going on, I haven’t even done any piecing in days! :O
