I can hardly believe that it’s been a month since I last posted! Obviously, I’ve been busy, but that’s really a terrible excuse. I now have the patterns for the last parts of the “coffee” BOM from Wonderfil, but I haven’t yet been able to make them — I’m hoping to get started on that in a couple of days at a sewing day sponsored by my guild.
In the meantime, I’ve been working on “Winter Visit” — a quilt designed by Krista Moser. The version I’m making has a white background, and the quilt will be a gift for our newly-minted granddaughter-in-law. I have the top all pieced, the berries machine appliquéd, the quilt sandwiched. Now I’m in the middle of doing the quilting, most of which is ruler work. There’s no way this will be finished by Christmas, but that’s fine.
My sewing room is rather small, so what little floor you see in this photo is all that exists when I have the back “flap” of my sewing cabinet up to work on larger quilts. LOL! It’s so “compact” in here that I have to remove my Bernina 790Pro’s knee life and my little scrap catcher/pin cushion in order to get to my computer desk. Still, I’m lucky to have a sewing room at all, so no complaints here.
Back to the quilting now!

Oh I love the quilt! I just got an email from her yesterday that showed that pattern. I prefer the white background as it makes everything pop. Your daughter-in-law is going to be thrilled with it. Please post when it is complete!
Thanks, Candice! I also prefer the white background (obviously). I’m anxious to get it done and give it to our granddaughter-in-law. 🙂
