Having finished three quilts recently, I took a little break and made a bag. This one is called “On the Go” and is another fantastic design from ByAnnie. I did “edit” it a tiny bit, making it 1″ deeper so it could accommodate my sunglasses or what have you. I don’t generally use a small purse, but I do like to use something smaller when traveling, and this should do the trick quite nicely, I think.

The fabrics are all by Tula Pink — like so many other people, I find many of her fabrics to be wonderfully fun. The bag measures about 6″ wide by 8″ tall and 4″ deep when empty. It has a deep zippered pocket on the front flap, another deep pocket on the back, a small ID pocket under the flap, and three credit-card-sized pockets inside the roomy (and zippered!) main compartment. The strap is adjustable, so the bag can be used as a shoulder bag, a cross-body bag, or even a waist bag.
That little piece of lavender fabric in front of the bag is what I used for the lining.

That is super, Sandy… I have seen similar bags with a whopping price tag…. it doesn’t look ‘home-made’ at all… unlike everything I do.. giggle…
Thank you, Dianne! I can’t take credit for how it looks, though (other than my fabric choices), since the By Annie bag patterns have fantastic instructions. Most have videos, too!
Thanks for sharing this one on the Bernina blog. It looks fabulous. I like how you highlighted the front design. I may have to give this one a try as it is definitely my preferred shape and size. You used that front design on the back too. Clever job!
Thanks, Bonnie! I really love that fabric and had to highlight the gorgeous flower. I think the bag will be very useful for travel; I need a larger one for everyday use at home. 😉
Love the By Annie bag, pattern and your fabric selection! You have a great eye and another impressive bag😁
Thanks, Candice! I fell in love with that fabric and couldn’t resist. 🙂
So pretty!
Thank you! 🙂
