I’ve been working on a quilt that began as a BOM at my local quilt shop, but. halfway through the monthly releases, the shop gave everyone the option of going ahead and getting all of the rest of it right away. I took them up on it, as I do prefer to work on a project all at once, and now I’ve finished the quilt. But there’s a complication, which comes down to “what was I thinking????”
This quilt uses fabrics in tiny prints that I’m not crazy about, and the overall look is of a lot of green — not my favorite, except in small doses. Live and learn, right? Oh well. It’s cute enough, but I’m planning to donate it. I didn’t quilt this as densely as usual, simply because I didn’t want to add to the stiffness of this heavily-embroidered piece. I have to admit that I do think that the houses are really adorable, so I hope the new owner will like it.

Oh that is so cute! Someone is going to absolutely love it. Are the small quilt blocks embroidered as well? Looks like it but wasn’t positive. My first thoughts were oh my that is an overwhelming lot of small piecing lol. No matter what that will be hung with pride to show off.
Thanks, Candice! Yes, the small quilt blocks are also embroidered. I’m sad about not liking this quilt, but it will make a good donation. 🙂
How funny! You don’t like it? I love it to bits… we are all wired differently!
Thanks! And, yes, different strokes for different folks, as they say. 🙂
What a darling quilt, and your work is so perfect! I love the little details like the tea cup and pineapple on the roof!
Thanks, Lisa! Those little things were what enticed me into making this quilt in the first place. 🙂
Sandy, Your work is beautiful, so many different techniques. Hope you keep it & love it! 😍
Thanks, Sherry! You’re very kind to say so. I won’t be keeping the quilt, though, as I’d like someone to be able to actually *use* it, and I wouldn’t. So it will go to a good home. 🙂
