I’ve been working pretty hard on the online classes I’ve mentioned before, but I did finally get all of my clamshells stitched to the background, using a variety of decorative stitches and thread colors. The next step will be to quilt this piece and the backing before putting them together. That may need to wait a little while, though, while I finish up a few other non-quilting projects, but that’s not a problem. 🙂 I will eventually trim away all of the white backing from the panel, which will make it a slightly smaller rectangle.

Beautiful job! I was at Bernina Connection in Phoenix and showed the last photo you posted. Everyone was very impressed!!
Thanks so much, Carol! If you go there again, please say hi to Val and Diane for me — Val and I used to be neighbors when we both lived in Douglas, AZ.
What a great project! You’ve inspired me to have fun, especially playing with all the specialty stitches that I almost never use.
My overflowing thread cases will love it too – double fun!
Thanks, Susan! Playing with the stitches on my machine was one of the reasons I decided to do this. 🙂
