Yesterday I had some fun at the quilt shop as I picked out eight colors for my next quilt, which will be quite a bit smaller than my last one. However, it’s going to have a lot more pieces! I’m paper piecing this one, a technique I’ve enjoyed for a long time and haven’t done in a while. There will be twenty-four triangular blocks, each with nineteen pieces, and this is the first completed one. Each piece in the blocks is quite tiny, which is why paper piecing makes very good sense for this, where accuracy is so important. The triangular blocks are about 3.5″ tall, from point to baseline. I think I’m going to have to make each block separately, rather than chain piecing, since each is a different combination of colors.

Can’t wait to try this new piecing
Paper piecing is fun, Marie. 🙂
This quilt should keep you occupied for awhile.
LOL! You have that right, Phyl!
WOW, that is cool, Sandy! I can’t wait to see what you do with these blocks!
Thanks, Rebecca. 🙂 The design will be a “swirly” one. 😉
Beautiful!
Thanks, Terry! 🙂
