I’m making progress on finishing up my paper-pieced bird quilt, which is a very good thing, as I’m planning to give it as a birthday gift in a couple of weeks. Whew! Since the birds were designed with pieces to represent branches and leaves, I’m quilting the background with lots of vines and leaves for the birds to play in. The birds themselves are — of course — covered in feathers. This is one of the blocks, the hummingbird, which is one of my favorites on the quilt. The laser light on my Bernina 790Pro has really helped with placement, too.

Sandy I love your quilting designs. Beautiful & so appropriate with the vines & leaves. Are you doing FMQ? If so, wow!
Thanks, Candice! Yes, it’s FMQ — I really enjoy it (most of the time). 🙂
You are my inspiration! Beautiful work. Someone is going to be overjoyed with their gorgeous gift.
Thanks again, Candice! I hope you’re right!
