Have scissors, will travel

Closed (flap down) scissors case in purple and teal print is standing up against a large sewing machineI signed up for a class at the Houston Quilt Festival that begins later this month. In looking at the supply list, I noticed that I’m going to need to bring scissors — something more than merely thread snips. What’s a girl to do but quickly make a scissor case to transport the scissors? Luckily for me, I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel, since I’d been seeing people’s versions of the Cut It Out pattern from ByAnnie — and it turns out that it’s a really quick one to stitch! I made the smaller version because I’m not taking really large scissors. I did adjust the position of the magnetic clasp, since my scissors are a tiny bit larger than some, though not large enough for the larger version of the pattern. These scissors are left-handed, so I also reversed the slanted front section to accommodate my left-handedness.

And here is the case with the flap open. Scissors case with flap open is standing up against a sewing machine. The case is a purple print fabric with teal lining.
