My beautiful Bernina 790Pro is still out of commission, though there is light at the end of the tunnel! When the local tech was finally able to get back to work after three weeks flat on his back, poor guy, he tried to order replacement parts for my machine. However, Bernina insisted that he send the machine back to them to analyze and make sure nothing like that would happen again. So, instead of having to wait for months for its return, they’re sending me a brand new machine! Yay! I just have to wait for it to arrive — hopefully very soon.
I had already joined something called a “Slow Along” to make another of By Annie’s bags, this one one of those fold-up bags to hold things during travel. The Slow Along has each of us making the bag “together” (online) in very slow steps. As it turns out, the first several steps are ones that my Bernina 475 can handle! Okay, the quilting through Soft and Stable wasn’t easy, and I had to forget any ideas of doing free-motion work on it; but straight lines were just about doable, as long as I reduced the presser foot pressure to nothing. 🙂
We’ll see how the next step goes!

I am so excited about how they handled your problem. A new machine minus issues! You will be thoroughly enjoying yourself & creating new things soon.
Thanks, Candice! I’m really missing all of the features of my Pro (or of any of the larger machines! LOL!), so I’m counting the days until the new one can be expected to arrive. 🙂
Can’t wait to see your new Annie creation. I love all of her patterns & the ability to turn them into something useful for you personally!
LOL! There will be a wait, whether my new machine arrives right away or whether it takes some time. That’s because the “Slow Along” means we’re working *slowly* — a step or two from the instructions each week. It’s working out well for me this time, given my machine situation. 🙂
