I use Embrilliance embroidery software, which works beautifully on my Mac; unfortunately, the Bernina software isn’t Mac-friendly — and it’s lots more expensive. A few days ago, Lisa Shaw, who is an expert at digitizing (something I’m definitely not) shared a project and instructions on how to personalize it for our own homes. I really liked what she’d done, so I downloaded the instructions and decided to make three — one for us and two for our adult daughters and their families. I carefully figured out what the GPS coordinates for each home were and got to work (=play!). I used a different color for the central portion of each version, as much for variety as as a means to keep straight which one belonged to which family! It was a fun project. 🙂 Given the risks of putting personal information on the web, I’ve had to blur most of the GPS coordinates, but I’ve left a little in so you can see a bit. Just click to enlarge the photo.

I saw this exact same design a few years ago on a FB machine embroidery page. She used the compass from embroidery library and the text fonts were from her machine. I still haven’t done it but I have the directions highlighted. d
It’s a fairly common way to do this, of course; the compass rose is traditional. 🙂
