It’s been a little while, hasn’t it? Sorry about that! We’ve been dealing with some serious health issues concerning our dog these days. She’s 14.5 years old now, so I guess she’s entitled to a few glitches. Still, she seems to be holding her own at the moment, so that’s good.
When I last wrote, I’d been working on a quilt called Ribbon Weave. I’ve since finished the top, but I’m awaiting inspiration for the quilting; I plan to sandwich and baste it soon, but I’m still debating the actual quilting. Part of the problem is that it’s quite a bit larger than my usual quilts — I don’t know what I was thinking! It would have been easy enough to make it smaller, while still keeping the design. Anyway, it’s large enough that I don’t have anywhere that I can hang it up to get an overall “view” for ideas. You may be able to see the problem in the photo to the right; it’s too big for my husband to hold up, and it’s too big to spread out anywhere in our house! LOL!
I have, however, done a mockup in EQ8 to try to come up with some ideas for the quilting. I just wish I’d thought of doing that before I made the top, as it would have been easy as pie to make it a bit smaller!
But in the meantime, I took a little break yesterday and embroidered a kitchen towel. I enjoy an espresso most days after lunch, so I thought this design was kind of appropriate.
