Some years ago, I found a way to have a custom-made skin put onto my Bernina 630. I loved it, and you may be able to see why. Unfortunately, when I bought my 790+ with all of its fantastic features, two things happened. First, the 790+ couldn’t have a similar skin, since that service no longer exists. Drat. The second thing is that I only have space for one sewing machine in our small home, so I ended up selling the 630 with its skin. <sniffle> I still haven’t been able to bring myself to get rid of the photo of this machine and its skin on the front page of this blog!
A few weeks ago, another Bernina owner pointed me to a source on Etsy for skins for my 790+, though they aren’t as customizable as the one I used to have. Still, I couldn’t resist, and my 790+ is now jazzed up and looking spiffy!

Hi Sandy, all look so nice, but what is “skin”. Am I missing something here?
Diana, a skin is something that sticks onto the machine (or your phone, or whatever) so closely that it’s like a “second skin”. It’s purely decorative. 🙂
Would love to know where you purchased it ! It looks lovely 🙂
