This morning I was talking to my sister and mentioned that I really did need a new case for the cards I carry in my purse. After our chat, I went to a lecture presentation at “my” quilt shop, Quiltique. Guess what the lecture was about! Talk about perfect timing — we had a demonstration on making a cute little card case designed by Pickle Pie — unfortunately, the design isn’t available except as part of a collection through Bernina dealers. However, as a bonus for the lecture, we were given this single design that we could personalize with an initial — lucky for me!
I came right home and made it, making only one little change. It uses a strip of elastic as a closure, and none of us today thought that looked very nice. However, one of the ladies came up with the idea of covering the elastic with a casing, so that’s what I did. I love working with cork, too, and this is a combination of cork and cotton fabrics. I’ve already added some cards (see them peeking out?) and put it into my purse!
