I’m still working on the same quilt I showed you a couple of weeks ago. There’s progress, but it’s been slowed because of another project I had to get done — and it has a deadline. This project isn’t a quilt, but it’s related. You see, about twenty-five years ago (yikes!) I set up a web site on the old Geocities platform. I managed to migrate that site to my own domain sometime soon after we moved here twenty years ago, but I really haven’t changed much about it. The software I’ve been using to add new quilts to the site is old. Really old. So old, in fact, that it will no longer be supported when the new MacOS is released this fall. Naturally, I’ve known about this for a couple of years, but I kept procrastinating and not doing anything to take care of things. The problem, of course, is that I will no longer be able to use the software to update or change the site. Oops.
So I’ve been working on a new site, which will be at the same address as before, once it’s finished. But — oh, boy! — this project has been a real head-scratcher and hair-puller! I think it’s finally about ready to upload, but I’m contemplating a few more “tweaks”. While I contemplate, though, I’ve made some progress on my quilt project — which has helped me stay sane. 😉 I have just one more vertical seam to get the main portion of the quilt put together, and then I’ll add borders and begin the lengthy process of the machine quilting.

Your quilt is amazing, Sandy, and I feel your pain about the web site. No matter how much better the hosting and the software and the templates get, I’ve had hundreds of hours sucked up every time I had to redo my business web site, just trying to get the templates and software to display things the way I wanted them to. I’d start out with these lofty visions in my mind of what my beautiful new site would look like and how it would function, and then as the days and weeks of work went by and the frustration mounted, the dream web site would get pared down and revised until it was nothing at all like what I envisioned when I started. I hope all goes smoothly for you!
Thanks, Rebecca Grace! My web site isn’t for business, so there’s far less hassle involved in that respect; but it’s a royal pain to have to do it at all! LOL!
