I’ve shown you the four adorable little blocks designed by the San Francisco Stitch Company, and they also offered designs for the borders and corners to finish up the project. I’ve just completed the stitching on those, and my Bernina 790+ did a wonderful job with all of it. 🙂 The original suggestion was for shades of brown as the sashing and corners, but I’m just not into browns very much, so I substituted purple. After all, there are touches of purple in each block, and I do love purple!
The blocks were 6″ before adding sashing and borders, and the little quilt top is now about 18″ square. I “just” need to decide how I want to quilt it! Any ideas? 😉

Quilting ideas? Maybe in the border a tight grid that looks like the middle of the sunflowers. Something swirly for each of the four blocks? Looking forward to seeing what you do.

Thanks, Denise. I think you and I are thinking similarly. 🙂 I’m probably going to do feathers (I do love feathers!) in the blocks, going around the central motifs. In the borders, I think a series of angled lines radiating from the center of each border to the corners is what’s going to happen. Before I do any of that, however, I’m going to do the ditch stitching and outline those embroidered motifs.
I am so glad i dropped in and saw this, it is just gorgeous.Absolutely!
Thanks so much, Dianne! It was a fun little project. 🙂
