Back in August, I wrote in this post about having some lovely new tile installed in our home. After we’d recovered from the resulting problems, we began to be less than happy with how the kitchen cabinets looked; the wood-tone cabinets and the grey tile just weren’t a great combination. In all honesty, I’d wanted to have something done about them, anyway, and this simply underscored the necessity. I thought we’d hire a painter to do the job, but my husband decided it was something he could handle. Now my husband isn’t the most patient man when it comes to this sort of thing, so our daughters and I did try to convince him of the wisdom of getting a professional to do it; but he insisted that he could get good results.
After several trips to the home improvement stores around here, both for supplies and for advice, my husband began work, taking his time and doing an amazing job! Our older daughter, her husband, and our eldest grandson also helped immensely, coming over while we were in Cozumel and installing all of the new cabinet handles and drawer pulls. What a difference some paint and handles make! Look at the “before” and “after” photos below!
