Some time ago I showed you a little clutch I made myself from dupioni silk. At the time I also wanted to make similar bags for our two daughters, but finding dupioni silk here is a little difficult, and ordering it meant purchasing a much larger quantity than needed. However, while I was at the IQF Houston show last month, there was a vendor selling FQs of every imaginable shade of dupioni silk! The next problem, of course, was to determine which colors to purchase. I finally settled on a couple that I thought could go with a lot of colors, navy and medium grey, and I came home and ordered the necessary bag frames. Earlier this month I designed the monograms to be used and made the two bags, though I couldn’t show them until after the gifts had been opened. That finally happened yesterday, so here are the bags. The navy is embroidered in a silvery grey, while the grey bag is done in black. They were a big hit with our daughters! 🙂

What a lovely gift and a classic addition to their wardrobes!
Thanks, Susan — I hope they’ll get a lot of use from them.
Gosh those are gorgeous, but you know there are lots of places here selling reasonable quantities and priced dupion, should you ever need more, just shout if you do.
Thanks so much, Ally! 😊
