I’ve just spent a wonderful weekend with my quilting buddy, Phyl, taking four classes in two days. Yup. The stuff exhaustion is made of! LOL! But it was such fun! Of course we visited an Apple Store and looked at some of the new products — we just looked, though. But back to the classes. The first one was an embroidery tutorial, in which we made a couple of very cute Thanksgiving coasters. I can’t wait to make more of them!
The next class had us making a cute little bag/wallet with turn clasp and adjustable strap.
The third class was using a serger, which is definitely not my main interest. However, we made little bags with ruffles and a zipper pocket on the back. There’s an open pocket on the front (the black/white dots) and the main, top pocket with drawstrings to close it. I think it will be a perfect wheelchair or walker bag!
The fourth class — and my favorite — was a session on using rulers in free-motion quilting. I don’t have a photo of that, since the various exercises were spread over a fairly large piece of fabric, and we certainly didn’t have time to finish! However, I learned a lot. 🙂 As I said, it was an intense couple of days, but it was absolutely worth it — especially spending time with Phyl and getting to see other friends there. Now to get into gear for the holidays!
