Like so many of us, I use a slow cooker for certain things we eat — it’s convenient and so easy. My trusty slow cooker died — after a long and faithful life — a couple of years ago, so I rushed right out and bought the same brand at a local Target store. Somehow, though, this one just didn’t live up to its predecessor; literally everything I cooked in it cooked too quickly and ended up overcooking if I wasn’t around to prevent it. The last straw was a pot roast the other day that ended up so dry that it was all but inedible.
Amazon to the rescue. I’d read some reviews from Cook’s Illustrated and America’s Test Kitchen, so I ordered the one they recommended — amazingly, it didn’t break the bank! Anyway, it arrived today. I dragged the rather large box inside and opened it, pulling out the next — almost as large — box inside. I opened that next, only to find yet another box crammed into that one! LOL! It tickled me so much that I took a photo of the three boxes piled on the kitchen floor. I guess nothing was going to damage that slow cooker on its trip to my home!
