Above is the logo of our local quilt show, set to open on Friday, April 26! I must say that our show is always a very good one; we have over 300 quilts on display, and there’s a good number of vendors, too. Something for everyone! The show takes a lot of work by a huge number of our members over the course of the year, and it’s always such fun to see the finished product and visit with everyone who is there to enjoy the quilts, the fashion show, the shopping, the silent auction, the laughter, and more.
Yesterday was check-in day, so all who entered quilts for judging or display took them in to be placed in the show. The judging began today, though of course that’s something that very few people will actually witness. The prize ribbons will be in place by Friday morning, and the excitement of the winners will be all the greater for having had to wait.
I entered a few quilts yesterday, too, but today has been a bit different for me. The guild awarded me the very great honor of being this year’s Featured Quilter, so I’ve spent the day sorting out quilts and packing them into suitcases to take over on Thursday, when I’ll set up my display with the much-needed and much-appreciated help of two friends.
If you’re going to be in the Las Vegas area this weekend, please come check out our show! It will be open from 9:00AM-5:00PM on Friday and Saturday, as well as from 10:00AM-4:00PM on Sunday. I think you’ll be glad you did!

Yea! So excited for you being the featured artist. Can’t wait to see your display this weekend.
Thanks, Marcella! It will be good to see you! 😉 I hope you’ll like the display; I’m counting on the artistic eye of my friends to help me set up something that won’t be too regimented and boring.
Congratulations! Hope you take lots of pictures to share…..
Thanks, Susan. 🙂 Unfortunately, my booth won’t be in the same room as the quilts that are in the show, but I plan to try to get a few breaks to go look!
Congratulations on being the featured quilter!
Thanks, Lynn! It’s been exhausting, but so fun! 🙂
