… and now I’ll need to sandwich and quilt this piece! 🙂 The pattern went much more quickly than I’d expected, and I rather like the swirly effect of the skewed log cabin blocks. The pattern says to quilt it by stitching in the ditch, but I’m trying to think of something a little more fun to do instead. Any ideas?

You are so speedy! I have managed to sew a few charm squares together and you have an entire adorable top done. I agree, this definitely calls for more interesting quilting than stitch in the ditch.
I’m glad you like the top, Marcella. 🙂 I’m beginning to think swirly quilting might be the ticket ….
Lovely! As far as the quilting, I think I’d be tempted to try something swirly.
Thanks, Michelle — that’s what I’m thinking, too. 🙂
Sandy, your artwork is stunning!
I love “swirly” for the tree, but how about continuous line stars for the background with a shiny embroidery thread?
Thanks so much for photographing this beauty!
Sandy,
Swirly verigated green for the tree and then if you could find a verigated colour to mimick the lights on the tree would be fun.
Snowflakes for the background would just set it off. I have a white and silver japanese thread that I don’t recall the name that would give an interesting sparkle.
