After weeks of fiddling and worrying about how to do this or that, I finally have a brand-new version of my admittedly and woefully out-of-date web site! I couldn’t have done it without a *ton* of help from a generous friend who walked me through every glitch I encountered. On top of design glitches, my hosting company hit understandable delays when it was hit last week by a hurricane; the company is based in Houston.
The site will function as a sort of scrapbook of all of my quilts and of the dogs I’ve had in my adult life, just as before. The “news” portion of my site is still this blog, of course. The main reason I even decided to update the “other part” of my site is that the software I’d been using isn’t 64-bit, and the MacOS that is coming out almost immediately requires that; I’d have been unable to do anything with that previous site. Now it’s modernized and I’m relieved! 🙂 You can, if you like, visit it at <https://sandymike.net>.

Can you tell what program you used to update your site. I have to update our quilting site and have been struggling to find a program I have time to learn and is cost effective.
I used WordPress.org. It’s free, and there are lots of “themes” that are also free. You should be able to find lots of tutorials and videos online, too, if you don’t have friends who know how to do things in WordPress. Good luck!
