During my trip to the Houston Festival in November, I saw a pattern that I thought was just too cute to pass up. Along with the pattern, I also bought a “grab bag” of Cherrywood fabrics — all pieces in different colors and approximately 8″ x 10″ in size — to make the various houses. Cherrywood fabrics are scrumptious with their suede-like appearance!
Anyway, the other day I decided to begin working on the quilt, and I now have the top almost completed. The houses themselves are stitched down with decorative stitches from the vast array in my Bernina 790+, and I’ve fused the doors and windows in place. I plan to stitch them down, too, since I worry about fusibles eventually losing their grip. There will be a center circle to add, and then the actual quilting will begin. 🙂

Agree 100% regarding Cherrywood fabrics. I have a stack of fall colors that I am just waiting for the right inspiration. d
They’re luscious, aren’t they? 🙂
That is adorable! What a clever pattern.
Your work, as always is really beautiful!
Thanks, Marcella! 🙂 That pattern is what caught my attention — I just couldn’t resist it!
