I enjoy attending meetings of the quilt group (such a fun group!) to which I belong here, and one of our very few rules is that we must wear a name tag. That’s actually a great rule, considering how bad I am at remembering people’s names! 😉 The name tag I’ve been using had become old and worn, so I decided to make a new one. This time, instead of simply writing my name on the fabric, I used my Bernina’s embroidery module to make something a bit nicer and more legible. This one should last me for another few years!

That’s adorable, Sandy! I’m pushing myself to try out the three quilt guilds nearest to me and pick one to join this summer. Rooms full of strangers are scary! 🙂 I went to a meeting of the Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild and saw they were all wearing fabric name tags, but wasn’t sure what was up with that. I guess I’m going to need to make one for myself!
Thanks, Rebecca Grace! I was terrified the first time I attended a group meeting, so the guild meeting (we have a *huge* guild) was even more of a nail-biter. Still, they were all very welcoming, and I’ve stuck around for 18 years now — ever since we moved here. Making a name tag has a lot to be said for it, since it provides almost-immediate gratification in terms of finished projects. 😉
