Last Friday I attended a lecture at my local Bernina dealer, this one dealing with making and personalizing the popular pop-up canisters. I couldn’t stay to actually make one, but on Sunday I did make one. The presentation on Friday gave each attendee a free motif to use on one of these pop-ups, but I decided to add a second motif in order to make it very personal. This pop-up is a gift for my granddaughter to use for her sewing/quilting tools, so I added her initial and made it in colors to coordinate with her bedroom.
To the left is one side with the free motif we were given.
And on the right is the reverse with my granddaughter’s initial.
One very cute aspect of the pop-ups is their portability since they collapse, much like those window shades many of us use in our cars.

What fun and so cute. Both are adorable, but I love the “Make Something Today”. Total #CreativeGoodness. You’ve inspired me to want to learn to make these.

Thanks so much, Darlene! I hope my granddaughter will get lots of use out of it, no matter which side she prefers. 😉
