What are you doing for this special weekend? My local guild, Desert Quilters of Nevada, is having our annual quilt show! This is a three-day event (Friday through Sunday) that takes all year to coordinate. Finally, last Monday those of us who were entering quilts for the show delivered them to the venue to be judged (though the quilter may opt for display only) and hung. Thursday the vendors get set up in their assigned areas, and Friday the viewers were allowed in. I worked Friday afternoon and will work again on Sunday morning, returning again Sunday at the end of the show to pick up my entries.
This year was the 25th anniversary of the guild’s show, so there was a retrospective of quilts from those of us who had been quilting for over 25 years. We submitted an early quilt and a later one, and they were shown twice on Friday and twice on Saturday, along with explanations of the quilters’ history. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been quilting for that long! I shared my first quilt and one I made just under two years ago. I’ll post my judged results after I get my quilts back. 🙂

I bet it was fascinating to see how everyone’s quilting had evolved. I am very impressed with your first quilt! That’s very elaborate quilting for a first project. Your applique is gorgeous too.
Thanks so much, Lori! You’re very kind. Yes, it was a *very* interesting presentation; I enjoyed it a lot, and I think everyone else did, too. 🙂
