We had a lovely Christmas here — it was so busy that I never even had time to post to my blog! But that’s a good thing, right? Besides, I was also occupied in moving to this new location and learning how to use WordPress — which I’m still doing — so posting had to suffer.
However, one of the gifts my husband and I received was a handmade one, which is so often the very best kind. 🙂 Our ten-year-old grandson had done a couple of string art projects in school, and he decided that they were to come to us! He did such a beautiful job on them that I decided to frame them so they wouldn’t get beat up hanging on the refrigerator or some such place, and I finally did exactly that today. I framed them in red to accent the Christmas theme, and I’ll hang them up each year. I’m just delighted with them!

Those are great Christmas decorations! I remember doing string art when I was a kid–I was probably 11 or 12. I used my Dad’s tools to build a wooden triangle on a base and put nails evenly all around the triangle, then did the string art. It wasn’t as interesting in execution as it was in conception, but that string art what-cha-ma-bob sat on one of the shelves in the living room for years! Your grandson’s are far better–excellent decorations for the holidays.
