This is actually an updated version of one I did way back in 2014 (on the left) and which has done heroic service since then. The new bag has a few refinements, including the way the “pages” are put into the “shell”. In the original version, each page had velcro to attach it to the inner spine. Now, though, the pages are double-width and are attached by means of a strap down the center. In my original version, I divided almost all of the pockets to make small spaces for machine feet, but I found that I rarely used the bag for that purpose. Now I use the bag to hold hardware and other supplies, and it rarely leaves home.<\/p>\n
<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6069\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/IMG_0018.jpeg?resize=300%2C220&ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/IMG_0018.jpeg?resize=300%2C220&ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/IMG_0018.jpeg?w=640&ssl=1 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>In this newer version, I’ve kept about half of the pockets full-sized and divided only a few.
