{"id":5804,"date":"2025-11-15T09:55:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T17:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandymike.net\/blog\/?p=5804"},"modified":"2025-11-15T09:55:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T17:55:11","slug":"oops-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandymike.net\/blog\/2025\/11\/15\/oops-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Oops &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You may (or may not!) recall <a href=\"https:\/\/sandymike.net\/blog\/2025\/08\/16\/on-the-go-bag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this post<\/a>, where I&#8217;d made a bag to take to places (like quilt shows) where I didn&#8217;t need a larger bag. I took it to the Houston Quilt Festival last month and promptly caught it on a door jam, ripping a small section. The bag was still usable, but the back didn&#8217;t look as nice as it had before.<\/p>\n<p>While the tear was near a seamline, I&#8217;d have had to take the bag completely apart, replace a piece of fabric, and remake it. I really wasn&#8217;t up for that &#8212; especially considering how much binding was finishing the interior edges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1365.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5809\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_1365.jpeg?resize=225%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Detail shot of small bag in lavender, green, and teal floral print. A friend looked at it and asked why I didn&#8217;t just make an embroidered patch to cover the spot. Duh &#8230; why not, indeed! The fabric was a Tula Pink design, so I looked for some of her embroidery designs and came across this adorable little bumblebee. I did a little test stitch on my Bernina 790Pro to check the size, decided to flip it to face the opposite direction, and stitched it out again on the matching fabric.
