\"Quilt<\/a>Our local guild is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and our guest speaking on Saturday will be Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life. As it happens, it was from her blog that the circle I attend chose this year’s BOM as a group project, so we’ve been asked to bring our blocks to the celebration. I didn’t think that taking a dozen blocks was a great idea, as it would be so easy for one to get swept accidentally into a black hole. \ud83d\ude09 As a result, I quickly put the blocks together into a top, which I will eventually need to quilt and bind.<\/p>\n

\"Quilt<\/a>On top of that, I bought a pattern and its special ruler at the Houston Quilt Festival earlier this month, and I’ve begun working on that as I await the next installment of the paper-pieced BOM from Wonderfil. You’d never guess that I’m the sort of quilter who really likes to work on one<\/em> project at a time! I may drive myself crazy at this rate! But the pattern is called Park Place, by Sew Kind of Wonderful, and it’s a challenge because of all of the curves. In addition to the curves, though, the special ruler and instructions are set up for a right-handed person, so I have to line everything up that way and then rotate things to use my left hand. It’s not an earth-shattering problem, but it does add to the time involved and also to a bit of confusion at times. Thank goodness for my rotating cutting mat! This is the first of the buildings, and there will be two more of the same design, in addition to the other designs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
