\"Quilt<\/a>It’s finished! I’d worried that this quilt might not be finished in time for the birthday for which it’s intended, but I have about ten days to spare. Whew!<\/p>\n

The design came from the Wonderfil Threads site (you have to write them and ask for the link; it isn’t readily visible any longer) and was intended as a paper-pieced BOM. I came to it very late, however, so I didn’t limit myself to a block each month.<\/p>\n

\"Close-up<\/a>The blocks are 12″ square, with some brown “branches” acting as a bit of sashing under each row and giving the birds a place to perch. The birds are very bright, giving a cheerful effect. To keep with the theme, my lovely Bernina and I free-motion quilted vines and leaves in the background and added feathers to each bird. Such fun! The pieced leaves are quilted with veins, and I added more feathers in the border. As usual, I added corded piping next to the binding at the edges.<\/p>\n
