I&#8217;d pieced this top <strong>ages<\/strong> ago and was &#8220;stuck&#8221; on how to quilt it until Lisa Calle came to my rescue with some suggestions. It was mostly ruler work, which was a challenge on my lovely Bernina 790Pro &#8212; a domestic machine. That involves pushing the quilt sandwich through the machine, as usual, but <em>also<\/em> holding the ruler steady at the same time. That&#8217;s a lot to be manipulating at the same time, and I&#8217;m not very good at it, but it&#8217;s done now! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/IMG_1108.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5665\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/IMG_1108.jpeg?resize=185%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Detail of quilt showing how the shades of colors (purple and orange, in this shot) give a dimensional effect. There isn&#8217;t much black border, but the larger areas have more of the boxes free-motion quilted into them in various colors. The smaller areas just have straight lines with circles quilted between the lines.<\/p>\n<p>The quilt measures 45&#8243; x 60&#8243; and was from a design by Marci Baker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s finished &#8212; finally!
