\"Small<\/a>Several days ago I saw an email that piqued my interest. Telene Jeffrey<\/a>, from South Africa, designs absolutely gorgeous wholecloth quilts. I love wholecloth quilts, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve made one. Since she has so many exquisite designs, I decided to start out small by doing her free design before deciding whether or not to do a larger one — which may happen in the future. I probably wouldn’t use a Grunge fabric again for this, though, as it makes the design difficult to see.<\/p>\n

I traced the design by using my lightbox, though you could also use a bright window. I finally decided not to do the fill work between motifs, as I’m really not very good at teeny-tiny stippling — or stippling at all, for that matter.<\/p>\n

\"Close-up<\/a>The laser pointer built into my Bernina 790Pro was invaluable as I worked on this free-motion quilting and also on the straight lines, done with ruler work, in the border. Be sure to click on the photos to expand them, as the motifs are a bit difficult to see in a small version.<\/p>\n
