\"Embroidery<\/a>I’ve been on a roll making bags lately, but I think this may be the last one for at least a little while. Who knows? I saw that someone online had resized a Project Bag<\/a> to make it into storage for embroidery machine hoops. What a great idea — especially since I already had the pattern and most of the supplies I’d need.<\/p>\n

I may have mentioned in the past that I have very limited storage in my sewing room. While some of the hoops that came with my Bernina 790Plus have a dedicated storage space in my sewing cabinet, some just don’t fit, so I came up with a way to hang them. As you can see, it works; but there are definite disadvantages. First, this system isn’t very attractive. Worse, though, is the problem of knocking one thing off the hook while trying to get one that’s behind.<\/p>\n

So, reading about this idea of altering the Project Bag design to store hoops was very promising! I had just<\/em> enough of a cute Tula Pink sewing machine fabric to make the lining — the part that shows through the vinyl. I had just<\/em> enough vinyl for the front. I had plenty of the striped fabric for the rest of the pieces, but I was short of the Soft and Stable used to give the bag structure and shape, and I also needed a zipper. Naturally, it was the weekend, and my local quilt shop, Quiltique<\/a>, was closed, but I tootled off as soon as possible and picked up what I needed.<\/p>\n

So here is the finished product, which stitched up quickly. I actually spent more time checking and double-checking my changed dimensions than anything else! \u00a0I’m showing the bag alone and also full and hanging in its handy spot.<\/p>\n
