The Desert Quilters of Nevada<\/a>, my local guild, has just wrapped up our annual show. There were so many gorgeous quilts, attesting to the expertise of our members! The judge, NACQI Certified Judge Nancy Fula, was fantastic, giving detailed critiques of each piece. This year marked a change in how entrants received those comments, in that the judge was able to use talk-to-text to get her comments into a computer, where a member of the committee then emailed those comments to each participant. It was wonderful<\/em> to get our feedback so quickly! Then, the lucky ribbon-winners were notified that they’d received a ribbon (though not which one) on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

The show opened on Friday and ran through Saturday, with a great variety of vendors and much camaraderie amongst the attendees and volunteer workers. We also had short demonstrations of various techniques by other volunteers, and there were food trucks for the hungry. All in all, it was a wonderful show!<\/p>\n

As for me, I entered two of my quilts. One was from a kit (my Saguaro quilt), and the other was my Feathered LeMoyne Star, which earned a lovely Honorable Mention ribbon — which, coincidentally, goes quite well with the colors of the quilt! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
