\"circular<\/a>Yesterday our local quilt guild had a bus trip to the wonderful Road to California show — over and back all in one day. We all had a great time, with lots of laughter and chatter all the way. We had done a similar thing ten years ago, when I bought a rotating cutting mat; that cutting mat finally died a few months ago, and I found another (different style) at this year’s show. I’m thinking that I’ve set a tradition there. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>However, there was a more personal connection to this visit to the show. A few months ago, I received the mass mailing from them to ask if I wanted to try to enter a quilt. I have no idea what made me actually submit an application, but I did — and it was accepted<\/em>! With a certain amount of trepidation, I sent off my quilt to the show, where it did not earn a ribbon, but merely being accepted is a huge<\/strong> honor. Naturally, I had to have a photo of my quilt hanging in such a rarified place, so this is it. The green ribbon there actually belongs to the quilt “next door”, but that’s fine. Now I just have to await the end of the show for the quilt to return home. Given how stressful it was to send it away, trusting the delivery service not to lose it (and again on the way home, of course), I doubt I’ll enter any more shows that aren’t here in town, but it was really exciting to be part of a national show!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
