I can hardly believe that it’s been over a month since I last posted! In my defense, I’ve been busy with family things and general life “stuff”. I’m still working — slowly — on the saguaro quilt, though. It’s all pieced and sandwiched, and my quilting is in progress. The quilting is pretty dense, so that’s slowing things down, too, but I hope it will be worth it. The long, straight lines aren’t really straight. They’re long “straight-ish” lines with “thorns” bursting off of them to suggest the ribs of the saguaro. The background will have lots of swirls to represent the blowing winds and dust we so often have in the desert.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to work on the quilt for much of July, as we have a “thing” coming up that will put quilting on the back burner, though I’m definitely looking forward to it, so no problem there. 🙂 In the meantime, I think you may be able to see some progress.

By the way, I’m really in love with the small left-handed curved scissors I bought last year from Famoré and which you can see in the photo (click the photo to enlarge for a better view)! They’re perfect for little snip-jobs, and I find myself reaching for them instead of for the thread snips right next to them. The flat top of my wonderful Bernina 790+ is perfect for keeping scissors/snips handy.

Omigosh!
