\"tiny<\/a>The most recent of the online classes I’m taking from Philippa Naylor<\/a> teaches techniques of making a miniature quilt. I’ve done some minis before, but I’ve usually paper pieced them; the bit and pieces of the sample quilt for this lesson are traditionally machine pieced instead. I’m not certain that I’ll make the entire quilt, but I’m planning to do at least a little bit of it, just for fun. These are the first blocks, a set of four log cabins. The center square measures 1\/4″ finished, and the entire block is only 1.75″ unfinished; it will be 1.25″ finished at some point. I’m not thrilled with the colors, but it was important to use very fine fabric, and I had limited choices available.<\/p>\n

Right now, though, I’m getting my supplies together for an online class from Road to California<\/a> in a little over a week; they’re calling these sessions “Road at Home”. This class will be on free-motion filler quilting from Jenny Lyon<\/a>, from whom I had an in-person class several years ago.
