\"Homecoming<\/a>It’s finished! Yay! Homecoming<\/em>\u00a0is a design from Lo & Behold Stitchery<\/a>. I’d previously made another of the designs from this site, and the technique is interesting; different strips are combined in varying combinations and then cut into blocks of various sizes and shapes. It’s not always obvious where you’re going as you’re making the blocks, but it all comes together into such interesting designs! This particular design has both a five-color option and a two-color option, which is the one — obviously — I opted to make.<\/p>\n

This throw-sized quilt is approximately 53″ x 71″, and I added the piping I like so much next to the binding (click on the photos for a larger view). It will be a gift for one of our grandchildren.<\/p>\n

I did the free-motion feathers I love so much in the white areas, as well as using ruler work in the red areas. That ruler work was straight lines, set diagonally, at 1\/2″ intervals. What was I thinking<\/em>??? It might not have been so bad if the red thread — exactly the same as the white thread — I was using hadn’t been such a pain and insisted upon shredding every couple of inches.
