That&#8217;s not quite true, of course, as I&#8217;ve won a few things over the years, including a nice gift certificate to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quiltique.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local quilt shop<\/a> recently. However, about a week ago I began to get shipping notices from <a href=\"http:\/\/williams-sonoma.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Williams-Sonoma<\/a> &#8212; notices for four different packages. Considering that I hadn&#8217;t ordered anything, I was confused and called for clarification. After some sleuthing around, the very nice service person informed me that I&#8217;d won a drawing from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.t-mobile.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">T-Mobile<\/a>, which is our cell provider. Wow!<\/p>\n<p>The first package arrived on Monday, containing a lovely set of four white wine glasses. Yay! I drink wine, so this was definitely a plus. The next three packages were to arrive the following day, and I was expecting similar gifts. <em>Wrong<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4424\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?resize=300%2C276&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"dinnerware bonanza\" width=\"300\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?resize=300%2C276&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?resize=1024%2C941&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?resize=768%2C706&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sandymike.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1325.jpeg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The other three boxes (why didn&#8217;t I take a photo??) were so large that our very nice UPS man hung around for a few minutes to be sure that we could even fit them through the door. In unpacking them, I almost went into shock! We were given service for eight &#8212; dinner plates, salad plates, coffee mugs, soup bowls, white wine glasses, red wine glasses, old fashioned glasses, champagne flutes. Also included were a dozen napkins and two place settings of gold flatware to coordinate with the narrow gold rim on the dishes. All of this was actually sent from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westelm.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Elm<\/a>\u00a0(but provided by T-Mobile, as I said), which partners with Williams-Sonoma.<\/p>\n<p>So now I&#8217;ll never again say that I never win anything! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been known to tell people that I never win anything.
